Spencer Minor was more than the lead singer of Scarlet White. He was a gifted vocalist, songwriter and performer who used his voice to connect with people in a real and meaningful way. His music spoke honestly about faith, pain, struggles, hope and purpose, that honesty is what made so many people connect with him. For listeners going through difficult seasons, Scarlet White’s songs were more than just music. They were reminders that they were not alone and that there was still hope, even in the hardest moments.

As a founding member of the Michigan-based band, Spencer helped build Scarlet White from the ground up. Over more than a decade, the band released three full-length albums, toured throughout the country and earned support from Christian rock radio stations and fans.

Although Spencer’s life was tragically cut short, the music he helped create continues to reach people. Longtime listeners still return to Scarlet White’s songs, while new fans continue to discover the band and the message behind its music.

On July 28, the anniversary of Spencer’s passing, Christian radio stations and Christian rock fans are invited to unite in remembering him by playing and streaming Scarlet White’s song “Worthy” at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. The song was personally selected by his fellow band members.

Whether “Worthy” is played over the air, streamed at home or shared online, the hope is that everyone will come together at the same time to honor Spencer’s life, music and lasting legacy.

I first saw Scarlet White perform in 2014, long before I began working in the Christian music industry. I have wanted to do something meaningful in Spencer’s memory for years, and I am grateful to now have the opportunity to help bring radio stations and fans together through this tribute.

This moment is about more than playing one song. It is an opportunity for listeners, radio stations, friends, family and fans to pause together and remember the impact Spencer made.

His time here was far too short, but his voice still matters. His legacy remains in the songs, the memories and the lives that continue to be encouraged by the music he helped create.

On July 28, we invite the Christian rock community to unite, play “Worthy” and remember Spencer Minor.
